How to build Princess Peach's Castle in Minecraft

Peach's castle from Super Mario 64, bright and cheerful. Cream walls, red cone roofs on every tower, Princess Peach in stained glass above the door and the Mushroom Kingdom flag flying from the top. A wooden bridge crosses the moat to the courtyard, and the green hills around it are dotted with warp pipes, a waterfall, floating ? blocks, gold coins and a couple of Goombas on patrol. Step inside for the grand foyer: red carpet, twin staircases and the big star door.

Building tips

  1. Build the main hall as a plain box first, then add the round towers at the corners so they overlap the walls by a block or two.
  2. Cone roofs are a stack of shrinking red circles. Go one block narrower every one or two layers and finish with a gold block on the tip.
  3. Do the Peach window from the pixel grid in the layer view: pink and yellow concrete for her dress and hair, white terracotta for her face and light blue stained glass around her so daylight still floods the foyer.
  4. Warp pipes are a lime cylinder with a wider green rim at the top and a black centre. Sink a few into the hills at different heights.
  5. Float the ? blocks with nothing under them, or build them on a pillar and remove it afterwards.
  6. For the star door, put a big yellow star on a dark door at the top of the twin staircases, and run the red carpet from the entrance right up to it.
