How to build Temple of Time in Minecraft

The Temple of Time from Ocarina of Time: a white stone cathedral with a slate roof, a tall bell tower and spire, stained glass windows and the golden Triforce above the door. Inside, the three Spiritual Stones rest on their altar in front of the open Door of Time, and beyond it the Master Sword waits in the Pedestal of Time under a shaft of light. Out front, a grassy courtyard leads to the Castle Town market with its fountain, striped stalls and timber houses.

Building tips

  1. Build the long walls and the buttresses first, then the roof. The roof is one ring of stairs per layer, stepping in one block each side, with the end walls filled in as triangles.
  2. Use full stained glass blocks rather than panes for the side windows: the colours read much stronger from outside and throw coloured light patterns in your head.
  3. The Triforce is three triangles of gold blocks, each four rows tall. Count from the top point: 1, 3, 5, 7, then the two lower triangles start side by side.
  4. Light the Master Sword chamber with four strands of end rods hanging from a glass skylight. With the torches kept away, the beam really stands out at night.
  5. Pave the market with a random mix of cobblestone, stone bricks and andesite so it looks well trodden, and keep the temple courtyard grassy for contrast.
