How to build Garfield and the Lasagna in Minecraft

The laziest cat in comics, doing what he does best. Garfield lies on his back on a red picnic blanket, head propped on a pillow, belly to the sky and eyes half closed, one paw holding a fork with a bite of lasagna. Beside him sits a giant glass dish of lasagna with every layer showing through the side and a big slice already missing. Behind him a wall calendar says exactly how he feels: I HATE MONDAYS. Odie's food bowl has been licked clean. We all know who did it.

Building tips

  1. Use a glass baking dish so the layers show through the side: pasta, red sauce, white ricotta, pasta, sauce, then a bumpy yellow cheese top with a few orange browned spots.
  2. Cut a slice out of one corner, all the way to the bottom. The missing slice tells the story better than any sign could.
  3. Garfield's face is all in the eyes: two big white eyes touching in the middle, with the top half covered by orange eyelids and a black line under them. Half-closed eyes are what make him look bored.
  4. Put the black stripes only on his sides and the top of his head, and keep his belly a pale cream. Three short stripes on the forehead are enough.
  5. Lay the picnic blanket in red and white carpet in 2 by 2 squares; it reads as gingham from far away.
