How to build Lakeside Fishing Dock in Minecraft

A quiet fishing spot on a little lake. A small log cabin with a front porch looks over the water, an L-shaped wooden dock runs out past the lily pads to a bench and two rod holders, and a rowboat is tied up alongside. Next to the dock there is a tiny bait shed, and a campfire with log seats sits on the shore between cattails. Lanterns on posts light the path and the dock at night.

Building tips

1. Dig the lake one block deep, lay sand along the shore edge, and fill it with water buckets before you build the dock.
2. Build the dock one block above the water with planks, and put a log post under each corner and every few blocks so it looks like it stands on pilings.
3. Fence posts on the dock edge make good fishing rod holders. Put a chest beside the bench for your tackle.
4. For the rowboat, replace the water under the hull with white concrete (or planks) and use slabs for the gunwales and seat. Tie it to a fence post on the dock.
5. Lily pads go straight on the water and cattails stand in the shallows. This plan uses lime and green carpet for the pads, and a green glass pane with a dark oak fence on top for each cattail.
6. A campfire is the real thing to use for the fire pit. In the plan it is shown as fire on a log inside a ring of cobblestone slabs.
7. Light the dock and path with lanterns on fence posts so it glows at night.
