How to build Stay Puft Marshmallow Man in Minecraft

He tried to think of the most harmless thing. A 30-block marshmallow sailor stomps down a New York street with a huge happy grin, a blue sailor collar, a red bow and his little white sailor cap, arms up like he is having the best day of his life. One puffy foot has turned a yellow taxi into a pancake. In front of him four tiny Ghostbusters with proton packs cross the streams at his belly, which is already toasting nicely, next to a big "no ghost" sign.

Open the interactive 3D plan above to build it one layer at a time: every layer has a numbered top-down plan, a block list and full-screen step-by-step instructions you can tick off as you go. You can also download it for Litematica, WorldEdit or Minecraft Bedrock, or view it in your room in AR.

Building tips

  1. Build him from the ground up as a stack of round blobs: two short leg cylinders, a big egg for the body, a smaller ball for the head. Make the big shapes hollow to save marshmallow.
  2. Use white wool for the marshmallow. It is softer and puffier-looking than concrete, and the light grey creases at the knees and wrists make him look squishy.
  3. Paint the face last, straight onto the front of the head: two tall black eyes, pink cheeks and a wide smile that curls up at the ends. That smile is the whole joke, so get it right.
  4. The proton streams are just straight lines of red, orange and yellow concrete from each wand to his belly. Count the steps on the layer plan; they go up one block every few blocks across.
  5. Squash the taxi before you build the foot on top: one layer of yellow, wheels poking out at the sides and a bent-up bumper.
